INCOMPARABLE EXPEPERIENCE

Last Thursday, September 26, 2013, me and Joanna Malicdem went to Apalit, Pampanga to witness the "Pasalamat ng Katawan" of the Members of the Church of God International (MCGI). Before we took a bus, we went to DZME which is located at the 5th floor of the Victory Mall near the terminal. We visited our friends there and told them to follow us right after their on the job training. As we finished our conversation with them, we went to the grocery to buy some goods like alcohol, tissues, etc.

Me and Malicdem were very excited. We ate junk foods while we were heading to Apalit. We did a lot of conversations. After a long hours of waiting, we reached our destination. First, we cleaned our place and put a cover so that we were able to lie down. We took a rest for a while. A few minutes later, we bought foods and ate in one of the stores there.

At 11:00 pm, if I'm not mistaken, Nerissa, Mean and Rodel arrived. They have their meal first. After that, we shared stories. We were just waiting for tomorrow, the beginning of PNK.

At 5:30 in the morning, I woke up. Me and Malic searched for a washroom. We can't talk until we haven't brushed our teeth. It's funny when we were avoiding to talk to each other because of it. We bought breakfast before the "awitan" ended. We went back to our place and waited for it to start.

The first topic was about the content of the famous prayer entitled "Our Father". I was amazed when Bro. Eli and Kuya Daniel explained that this was wrongfully translated. Within the 21 years of my existence, this is the first time that I realized that there is something wrong in the prayer.

The moment when we sing and dance the songs of praise for God is the best part of PNK. Although I didn't know the choreography, I joined the brethren and did it as lively as I can.

Friendship also are being strengthen here. For 3 days that we were together, we do things at the same time like eating together, learning together and sharing stories together. When somebody is in need of something, one will volunteer to give what she asked for without hesitations.

Each day is a new learnings coming from Bro. Eli and Kuya Daniel. I am very thankful because I became part of it and I will not be tired of coming here.I'm excited for the next PNK!
FUN AT PHOTOWALK
The Photoville International held a photowalk last September 20, 2013 together with the students of La Verdad Christian College, MCT-2B. It started as early as 8:00 in the morning in the vicinity of Maynila. The founder of this activity is Mr. Dominic Meily and he is also the president of the organization.

The real purpose of this event is to practice the students on how to capture a great picture along the streets. With the knowledge that we gained from our class sessions and photography seminars, we were able to determine a good shot. We were also guided by our instructor, Mr. Dominic and the other members of Photoville International.

Before we started the Photowalk, a little briefing was made. After that, we were divided into five to six groups. Each group has a leader. Mr. Dominic made sure that everyone understand the purpose of this event and everyone will have fun.

I was belong to the group of team Bag-yo, headed by Mr. Dominic. Before we started taking photos, we ate bananacue first. The first photo that was took by our group was the portrait of the old man who is selling candies and cigarettes on the sidewalk. Our leader told us that the old man is one of his favorite subject. We went along the underpass and I found a big picture of leaf. He positioned Mean on the right side of it because she wore a green jacket. I thought this is a good a subject. So, I made my first shot.

We entered Intramuros and took pictures everywhere. My favorite subject is the intersection of the path and the S-shape of it. We walked and we captured photos. We also have our own portraits. It was really fun.

When we reached the wall with a beautiful graffiti, our group made a jump shot. Mr. Dominic joined us. A very long walk made my stomach cry. It was a good thing that he invited us to have some lunch in one of the restaurant in Maynila. I forgot the name. That restaurant also served as the meeting place of all the groups. We ate and shared stories together.

After our lunch break, we continued our activity. A long hours have passed and the time to say goodbye has come. But before that, the best part happened. We had a group picture at the Baywalk. We had jump shots and wacky shots.

It was a very long day for me. Thanks to Mr. Dominic and to team Bag-yo. I really enjoyed and had so much fun.

Hoy Hoy Buloy by Parokya ni Edgar
This is one of their good song. Buloy is the one who's giving some piece of advice to his friend. He told him0 that he can overcome his burdens. But one time, Buloy face a difficult problem. He didn't show up for a long time. And then suddenly, he died by commiting suicide. It only shows that Buloy is pretending that he is strong so that he can hel his friend to carry his burdens. But as a human being, he too suffer, he too has problems. He just keep it to himself until it comes to a point that he doesn't know what to do, he doesn't know how to escape from it.
There can be a wrong perception from this son. It is not right to drink alcohol if you have problems. It is not a good solution. The choice is ours to do the right thing.
Laptopvs. Tablet             Why would you buy an expensive tablet if there is a laptop? A laptop has a larger screen than a tablet PC. So, it is more comfortable to watch a video, edit photo and view images on a laptop. When it comes in portability, well, a tablet PC is much easy to carry because it weighs under 2 pounds and has the size of a small pad of paper while most laptops are longer and heavier. But if you're going to do a multitasking, a laptop can perform it faster than a tablet PC. It is also convenient to type on a laptop because it has keyboard while in tablet, you will have a hard time typing on its virtual keyboard.

To sum it up, a laptop is more flexible than a tablet PC when it comes to mobile computing.

The Healing
I can say that this film is one of the great creation of Filipino. This horror movie really scares me and made me tremble in my sit. Honestly, I just ignore this film because I thought that this is a sort of a drama especially when I knew that Vilma Santos is the leading actress. It is unusual to see her acting in a horror film, right? But she did it well.

But there is one thing I want to know. Why do the characters need to wear clothes with the same color? What is its relevance to the story?

Christian Living Weekhas a remarkable openning. Many professors and the other school staffs joined the fun. Because there's a lot of activities involve in this event, some of the professors decided to give additional grades to all of the students. I think they were forced to do that because of the unlimited cheerings made by the wild students. It's like they were craving for a higher grades. As a student of La Verdad Christian College, I am so proud of my professors because in spite of their profession, I see them having fun together with us.
We started the event with a well-practiced cheerings made by each section. It is well-prepared although the performances seemed like just a practice. Because of these, some of the professors laughed out loud especially when they did the "Cha Cha Cha", a famous dance in Eat Bulaga. Third year students are the organizers of the event. They announced all the activities and
they were hoping that everybody will participate.

The other day, we MCT-11, made a plan about our schedule of practices in Christian Dance and Christian Chora, while me and Grace were preparing for the upcoming Quiz Bee. It is my first time to join that kind of contest that's why I feel a little nervous. We don't have enough time to fix all of these because of our hectic schedule but we were surely did our very best. The
most awaited day came. We were ready to fight.

The first game was Bible Preaching followed by Bible Quiz Bee. Me and Grace were so nervous that time. At the first part of the game, we easily found an answers to the questions. We have no mistakes. As the level goes higher, we were wandering why the other questions are not in our reviewer. Most of our answers in part 2 and 3 were wrong. It is sad to say that we were eliminated. When we went back in our seats, we realized that the reviewer that was given to us was only the part one of it. I think the one who gave it to us didn't know that was incomplete. Anyways, we enjoyed the game. After this, we watched and waited for our performance in Christian Dance and Choral.
The next day, the competition for A Song of Praise was successful. Seeing your schoolmates singing their own piece made me proud. They are like professionals. After this, the announcement of the winners followed. We got the third place in Christian Dance and Choral! Not bad right?
All I can say is, Christian Living Week was a success. It was full of fun and enjoyment.

Why Am I Here at La Verdad Christian College?

Before I enter La Verdad Christian College, I did not expect that I can continue my studies after my four years in secondary. I know that my parents cannot afford to send me in college. So, as my days passed in the last two months of my highschool life, I'm busy looking for a job. I made a 20 copies of resume and submitted it in all the establishment I've saw. Suddenly, my classmates told me to come with them because they are going to La Verdad. I don't have any idea where it is and what Laverdad is. First, I thought that it was an establisment that needs a new employee. But when they said its a Christian College, it was the time that I realize it is a school. They got the information of this school from our student teacher. We went there and asked all the requirements needed. I submitted all of it as soon as I can. I am so thankful that I
was given an opportunity to study in this school.

Each day that I am here, molds me into the person I am today. Because of this, I realize the reasons why I was brought in this place. I am here to build my visions with the help our Almighty God, to be a better person, to seek for the truth, to realize that I am nothing without God and also to know who He is. This school does not only gives a good quality of education but it teaches their students to have a good values.

‎                                                                 "Sabayang Bigkas"

Every section is busy rehearsing their own interpretation towards the piece entitled "Wikang Filipino: Susi sa Pagkakaisa't Pag-unlad ng Pilipino". This piece was chose by the organizers of the Filipino Month. Every student awaits the day of the competition of "Sabayang Bigkas". Me, being part of the participants in MCT-12 witnessed the pressure occured in our everyday practice. In spite of our hectic schedule, we assured that we have an alloted time towards the preparation of the said event.

Different ideas and opinions occured as the practice goes on. Of course, arguments cannot be avoided at this time. That's why we need somebody to lead us. We asked Ms. Beltran to teach us and she accepted it. Because of her, little by little we had completed the piece. We combined all the things that we know about "Sabayang Bigkas" head by Wency, our classmate and arranged it properly so that the flow of what we have done will become smooth. We put manila paper or a newspaper in the glass part of our room so that the other section won't see us practicing. I think every section also feel the same pressure that we felt.

A strong relationship evolve due to our practices. We as MCT-12, became more intact. Our rehearsals serve as our bonding time. The reason behind it is that we are happy with what we are doing. We agreed on one thing. Winning is just our second priority. The day of our performance came. A mix of feelings occured. We were nervous and excited but we always remember that we are performing because we enjoy it. When its over, we think that we did the right thing.

The other contestants have beautiful and colorful costumes and props. They execute the piece very well. Because of these, we don't expect that we will win. We already accept that we're going to take midterm exam in Filipino. This is our deal with Sir Tykes. If we win, we are exempted but if not, we'll take the risk. We were so shocked when they call out our section. We jumped out of our sits and run wild into the front to get our award. We really didn't expect this!

You know, I learned something from this experience. Even if you exerted a great effort, it is nothing without passion and as a group, you have to think and move as one.
